Some Guidelines for Prayer

Be persistent in your prayers. Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
Abide in Him and Him and You. If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7
Call on Him when you are in trouble. And call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me. Psalm 50:15
Approach Him and call on Him with reverence, worship, and holy fear. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth. He will fulfill the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them. Psalm 145:18-19
We receive what we ask when we obey Him and follow His plan for our lives. And we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we [watchfully] obey His orders [observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us] and [habitually] practice what is pleasing to Him. 1 John 3:22
Ask God to give you the faith to believe your prayers are answered. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. Mark 11:24
Call on God to show you what is hidden. Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand). Jeremiah 33:3
Trials bring purification and refinement—call on him during these trials. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined and will test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will hear and answer them. I will say, It is My people; and they will say, The Lord is my God. Zechariah 13:9
God hears the prayers of those who are consistently righteous. The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the [consistently] righteous (the upright, in right standing with Him). Proverbs 15:9 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles. Psalm 34:17
Believe that He gives good gifts His children who keep asking Him. If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him! Matthew 7:11
Ask in Jesus’ name so that the Father may be glorified through the Son. And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. John 14:13-14
